Vicarious Trauma
Self-Care Workshop

Thursday, July 31, 2025

When we serve others in the justice-involved mission field, our lives are constantly intersecting with people who have lived through traumatizing experiences. Our inevitable absorption of these “traumatic stressors” shows up in our psyche, behaviors, and relationships in unhealthy ways. The bottom line is that showing up as our best selves in ministry and service takes self-care.

This 1½-hour workshop prepares service providers, justice professionals, family members, ministry servants, and pastors to recognize the mental and emotional signs of vicarious trauma. It gets you back on track with some self-care practices as you face exposure to life’s traumatic stressors.

Presenter:
Dr. Camisha Chambers, D.Min.,  All In Community Nurturing Communities Coordinator

The Restored Citizens Summit (RCS) brings together all sectors of the community for ongoing collaboration to continue elevating awareness concerning matters of homelessness, poverty, and the needs of families of people with conviction histories. The RCS, also, is where formerly incarcerated persons can meet community members committed to supporting them, so they can move from reentry to reintegration to restoration.

This is a free event.

Registration is required. Deadline to register is August 1, 2025
