Carrie Given, HPI Program Director at the Ohio Reformatory for Women
I am honored to serve as the Program Director for Horizon Prison Initiative at the Ohio Reformatory for Women (ORW).
With over twenty-five years in full-time ministry—as a pastor, missionary, prayer leader, and chaplain—I am passionate about guiding women on a journey of healing and faith. Since first volunteering at ORW in 2022, I have helped lead programs such as Healing Care, Celebrate Recovery, and From Broken to Beloved, witnessing God’s transformative power firsthand.
Now serving full-time with Horizon, my deepest desire is to help women rediscover their worth, dignity, and identity as beloved children of God, and to see Horizon at ORW thrive as a true community of transformation and hope.

Andi Marland, Administrative Assistant | Volunteer Coordinator
I am grateful to be a part of the Horizon Prison Initiative team. I graduated with an MA in Sociology with a focus in Prison Rehabilitation and Reentry. Throughout my college career, I had opportunities to help create classes for the incarcerated, and participate in the inside-out program. The research and opportunities I had in higher education fueled my desire to work in the prison system to help those impacted by incarceration and build them up. As the Re-entry coordinator at ORW, I hope to not only help these women, but connect them with the proper resources to successfully re-enter society. I am looking forward to making a positive impact on these women and seeing what the future holds.

Kamal M. Sahr Sr., Community Resource & Reentry Coordinator
I am honored to serve as the Community Resource and Reentry Coordinator for Horizon Prison Initiative. In this role, I help foster meaningful connections, guide individuals through reentry, and work alongside our community to build brighter futures. The strength of Horizon lies in its people, and together, we are creating pathways to success.
Having navigated my own journey as a Judicially Impacted Citizen, I understand the challenges and triumphs of rebuilding life after incarceration. These experiences fuel my commitment to service, advocacy, and empowerment. I believe reintegration is not about starting over—it’s about moving forward with purpose, support, and determination.
What drives me is the opportunity to stand beside those ready to take charge of their futures. At Horizon, we are more than a program—we are a community built on accountability, strength, and hope. I am grateful to walk this path together as we continue transforming lives and restoring dignity, one step at a time.
